The sand and dust test chamber is developed and designed based on the main parameters described in the relevant national industry standard "GB4208-2017". According to the requirements of the standard for ip5x/ip6x, ip5x is dust-proof, that is, it cannot completely prevent dust from entering, but the amount of dust entering must not affect the normal operation of the facility and must not affect safety; ip6x is dust-tight, that is, no dust can enter.
In general, there are differences in the dustproof detection of IP5X and IP6X. The experimental standard of IP5X is: the test piece is placed in the middle of the metal screen of the sand and dust test box, and the dust raising time and dust stopping time are set on the automatic control system. The experimental time is at least 2 hours. The experimental conditions of IP6X are: the test piece is placed in the middle of the stainless steel wire mesh of the sand and dust test box, the vacuum interface of the sand and dust test box is connected to the air extraction port of the test piece, the pressure in the test piece casing is maintained less than atmospheric pressure, and the vacuum pumping speed is 40 times-60 times the casing volume per hour. The experiment is carried out for 2 hours. If the vacuum pumping speed is lower than 40 times the casing volume per hour, the experiment can be stopped only after the continuous pumping of 80 times the volume or 8 hours.
When using the sand and dust test box, it is necessary to pay attention to the talcum powder used to meet the various regulations on human health and safety. The amount of talcum powder is 2 kg per cubic test box volume, and the number of uses shall not exceed 20 times.
